Creativity For a Cause
Happy International Women's day! :D To celebrate women on this day and this year, I am taking part of the wonderful "Creativity For A Cause" campaign by Philadelphia Arabia. I will be one of four mentors to encourage and support the participants and their creative ideas.
Women in the GCC have so much passion and many great ideas, but sometimes fear or lack of support get the best of them. "Creativity For A Cause" will serve as a platform for aspiring women to share their creative ideas and get the emotional and financial support they need to succeed.
Four mentors have been chosen to help participating women shape their ideas and set it in motion. The mentors are: myself "Esra Alhamal" ( I think you know me by now if you are following this blog and you know what I am about. If you don't then make sure to read my story) "Sarah Al Beloushi, Emirati photography enthusiast and blogger; Shahd Thani, an Emirati writer; H H, Saudi artist, and fashion designer." (Gulf News, 2016).
I am so thrilled to be part of this empowering movement. It always pleases me to see women in the Middle East supported and encouraged especially in the Gulf region. I was lucky to have my mother's support in all my big life decision (May God bless her and prolong her life) because she is an artist herself - Najat Alshafie - . Unfortunately, other women have been struggling. I witnessed that with many of my Saudi friends. Shyness, Fear and lack of support stopped them from reaching their full potential. I am hoping to be a positive force in this campaign. I can't wait to see all the creative ideas that will be submitted! Make sure you send one too :D
